AKA Mozzy

Registered Morgan Gelding foaled May 17, 2005--We purchased him in May of 2019. Sadly, he went to heavenly pastures due to complications of Equine Metabolic Syndrome, which manifested severe symptoms in early January, 2021 as laminitis. We were able to take care of him and he made a "miraculous" recovery in 7 weeks. He seemed cured and sound from April through June as long as we kept him off fresh Spring grass and gave him extensive supplements. On our July 21 ride, he struggled in pain and we cut it short. Apparently, the 20 mins. on grass a day was enough to create a relapse. The next months he had his ups and downs. He was able to give some children some rides around the pasture, but was never pain free enough for me to ride again. We thought he was making headway when he made a sudden turn for the worse on December 15, 2021. Nothing helped and he basically told us he was through with the pain. His last treat was oats and applesauce with pain killers (which didn't work anymore), but he REALLY enjoyed it. The vet had to give him an injection so he could even walk out of the pasture and up the driveway to the waiting trailer. I cried many, many tears over the months, but was joyful when Wayfarer and Ellie came to escort him.
